Map and Directions

Captain-Zipline-OfficeMeeting Site/Departure:

Customers are either transported by van or car-pooled to the zipline site, depending upon the volume of activity and time of year of the tour. In the past, we had used an open troop carrier for transport, but in an effort to keep our operation’s insurance costs within a reasonable range, we ceased using this vehicle in 2009.

We depart from 331 H Street in Salida.

  • The easiest way to find us is by first locating Route 50 (Rainbow Boulevard), the only 4-lane highway through Salida. If you are coming from areas west of Salida, you will take a left onto H Street; if coming from the east (Canon City, for ex.), you will take a right onto H Street. Follow H Street almost to where it comes to a dead end--Captain Zipline meeting place will be 1/2 block before the dead end on your right. The office is located in a large white stucco industrial building. Parking is street parking.
  • Alternatively, those arriving from Denver and other areas north of Salida may take 285 South towards Fairplay. There will be a sign for Highway 291 about 8 miles outside of Salida; take a left onto 291 and drive 8 miles into Salida. Once in town, take a Right at the only stoplight and drive about 3 blocks to 4th Street. Take a Right onto 4th Street and drive about 2 blocks to H Street. Go Right onto H Street and look for the Captain Zipline sign to your Right.
  • You can use Mapquest Maps to get the route to the shop. It is imperative that your group check in 30 minutes prior to trip time. We depart no later then 10 mins. past the hour, and even if your dog ate your map and you thus are not present, you will miss the trip and we cannot reschedule or refund your trip fee.
